Dispel Institute’s Resident artist program is focused on giving established makers and rising stars a unique and experimental opportunity in which they can push the boundaries of scale and material process in their work.

Resident artists will lead their own exploration. While the Dispel team is here to assist and guide, the Resident artist program is entirely independent. We are seeking makers who want to increase the scale and complexity of their work.

This program's arrangement is based entirely on submission; we will work with complete flexibility to help curate the resident applicant’s vision, including timeline, materiality, and technique associated with making large scale works.

We expect resident applicants to have an extremely clear intention. Submissions require refined building plans, be it sketches or schematics, as well as a focused trajectory for the desired qualities of their finished works.

Dates and durations of residents are negotiated based on each application submission. Housing fees and material/ firing costs are also negotiated based on submission.
